When you choose to sign up, we save your username and password. Your password is saved in an encrypted format and cannot be retrieved by anyone. In the event that your password is forgotten, we will email you a new one if you have provided a valid email address. You are not required to provide your email address, but it is recommended. We will not share your email address with 3rd party, and will only use your email address to provide you with information you requested.
Implicit Information
We keep track of certain things you are doing on the site, like searches you are making, podcasts you are rating/tagging/listening to, or pages you are viewing. We do not attempt to study this information on an individual basis, but rather use it in aggregate to produce usage reports and to help improve your personal experience. We do not currently sell any data we collect, and if we ever do it will be sold in aggregate as usage statistics with no individual names or login information attached.
Explicit Information
We collect and share any voluntary personal information like your birthday. You will not be required to share information, and will only share the information you explicitly tell us to share by clicking “make public.” Please take proper precautions before making any information about yourself public. We will use some of this information to help ensure your experience on your site is personalized. We will not sell individual information, but again, we may sell anonymous statistics.
Exchange Information
We keep all our emails that we send back and forth between users and staff. Please take the proper precautions when sending us emails. Do not send us confidential information via email.
What we put on your computer
We put a cookie on your computer if your browser's security settings allow us. This is a common way websites save user preferences so that they don't have to keep entering them every time they use the site. It's a simple text file and only contains information that will help our site load personalized settings. Other than the cookie, we do not put anything on your computer.
How do we protect your information
We store all passwords using hashes, and all the information we collect are stored in a secure location. At this time, we do not collect sensitive information such as credit card numbers that require extra security measures.
