Hundreds of thousands of young people are preparing to start university. A website aimed at helping students who develop depression has recruited 12 young people to share their stories on a Blog Ring. Jane talks to Daniel who took part in last year's blog, and to Ann Heyno who helps to run it.
In an updated edition of her book, A Writers Britain, Margaret Drabble explores the relationship between writers and place. She joins Jane with Welsh poet Gillian Clarke.
More than half a million women worldwide die each year because of complications related to pregnancy. This statistic inspired four teenage girls to develop a 'pack for life' for mothers and their newborn babies in Africa. Their idea has now been adopted by the aid agency CAFOD. Jane speaks to two of the girls who have just returned from Nigeria.
The Colombian singer and dancer Tota la Momposina is widely recognised as the foremost exponent of Cumbia music. Tota speaks to Jane and performs with her family.
