Samson and Delilah is the new indigenous film by Director and cinematographer Warwick Thornton. It premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival in March.
He's made acclaimed short films, including Green Bush and Nana, and most recently shot the magnificent First Australians series seen last year on SBS.
Samson and Delilah is a love story, set in a Walpiri settlement in central Australia, and in and around Alice Springs. Its convincing, confronting and gritty in its portrayal of remote settlement life. For Warwick Thornton, with producer Kath Shelper, the important thing was to make a film which is both hopeful and truthful. It will open on May 7.
