The Decanter May 2008 issue has an article about why women do not usually collect wine, with a few exceptions.
I loved the story Becky Wasserman tells about how she was speaking at an event and a guy in the audience said he "...only tasted Grand Crus" to which she replied, "I feel sorry for you." She was struck by the total silence in the room and realized that the audience, entirely male, didn't get what she meant!
